That was the original plot for Shrek 4 before they changed it to being the final movie , so I hope 5 explores Shreks past
I really think if COVID had never happened KFP4 would have come out much earlier (I read somewhere it was planned for a release in the early 2020s, maybe 2022 or 23) which means we would have been closer to KFP6 by now instead of 5
That means KFP5 would not come out until 2029 or 2030 , it would be a 5 or 6 year gap between that one and 4 but still shorter than the wait between 3 and 4
I really think it's going to end up being The Furious Five Spinoff and KFP5, mainly because I saw a rumor not long after KFP4 came out that said the Spinoff was coming in 2027
I figured KFP5 would be the movie to come out the year after since I suspect the spin off is going set up the events of 5
I know a lot of people hated 4 (I don't) but if I turn out to be right I'm hoping KFP5 redeems the mistakes people think 4 had and ends up being a solid movie
While I don't see how they could bring back Farquaad or Godmother anyway since they both died on screen unless magic is involved i did want to find out what happened to Charming and Rumpel
I don't think Death should be in a Shrek movie, he really only works in a Puss in Boot film and is Puss's arch enemy not Shreks. I think the villain of Shrek 5 should be an evil princess (which would be symbolic since the first movie was about saving a princess, this one would be about stopping one) , either that or Morgan Le Fay
The one thing I think Shrek 5 can focus on is Shrek dealing with his kids leaving the swamp (or the nest so to speak) and worrying about not being a good enough father (kind of like how he told Arthur his father tried to eat him) since besides that we never learned much about his own past . As long as they don't pull the dad hates daughters boyfriend cliche I think it will be a good arc for the movie
Another reason I'm glad 5 is happening is revealing what happened to Rumpel and possibly Charming (since some people think he survived the tower falling) as it was rumored they were bringing back all the old villains in this . I'm also excited to see what fairytale character the 5th villain is going to be
Its a strange and hilarious but became iconic because of the memes. And really a good performance from Jerry Seinfeld considering he rarely acts in movies
One thing I wish the movie changed is showed what happened to Ken. I think he should have showed up during the court scenes

Kung Fu Panda 4 gets hated on way to much, and is a great movie compared to the disappointment that is Toy Story 4.
I'm a big Toy Story fan but 4 was just a spit in the face to what made the last 3 movies good...
I thought Kung Fu Panda 4 had more worldbuilding compared to 3 and had an amazing villain. 3 is still my favorite but 4 is probably the 2nd best one
Charming from Shrek, he was a big arrogant brute but he had been built up his whole life being gaslight by his mother that he would one day become king, and its why he became evil. I also thought he was the most redeemable of any of the Shrek villains

Thats a cool idea but sounds a bit similar to the ogres in Forever After. The one thing I wish Shrek 5 would do is show Shreks past and maybe his parents are finally seen on screen
I've liked some of her voice work, she was great in KFP 4. I also was shocked to find out she did voices for Regular Show
Its crazy she's done voice work for almost every major animation studio at this point with the exception of Pixar for some reason
The return of Farquaad since it keeps being teased constantly and is probably likely because of the multiverse plot
Also even though it's not said who the villain is yet I wouldn't mind seeing a princess as the main antagonist
I could see Shrek and Megamind in live action but not so much the others , the reason being because most of the characters in those are humans
A Shrek live action could poteinally expand on Farquaad and give him more screen time since he doesn't have that much in the original. I think it would be more serious than the animated version and less jokes
I think its been to long, and I don't think there's much they could do in a sequel either
I wish they had made one at some point and brought Gallaxhar back, he was one of the coolest and creepiest DreamWorks villains. Its funny he's voiced by Dwight from the office
I think Will Ferrell would have been the voice, I wonder if they would have cast two different people as both the shadow and the main character or they would have been played by the same person

I'm really surprised they never made a Julian spin off film since he's the most popular character from Madagascar (I know they made the King Julian show but that was made for TV)
