Why each of these characters is so hated:

• Seti I-It doesn't get much more evil than working the Jews to the bone, and then murdering scores of their children out of fear of rebellion; and when Moses and Ramses reunite years later, it's clear that any love he had for his adopted father is gone.

• Tzekel Kan-Human sacrifice WAS common among the people of pre-Columbian America, but he gets a genuine thrill out of bloodshed and murder; he's even willing to sacrifice his own servant and lay waste to El Dorado, and later betrays his people when he meets Cortes.

• Mrs. Tweedy-While you could argue she IS a shrewd businesswoman, if you're a chicken, she's your worst nightmare come true; and when her farm is struggling, she's perfectly content with slaughtering them all to turn into pies.

• Guy Gagne-They say never meet your heroes; while this driver appears to be an inspirational role model, in reality he is arrogant, rude and will do anything to get what he wants.

• Lord Farquaad-Hilarious though he is, you can't overlook the fact that he hates magical creatures with a vengeance, believing them to be a blot on his perfect world view; he also shows a complete lack of regard for his warriors, willing to turn them into dragon food just so he can get Fiona.

• Chantel DuBois-Similar to Mrs. Tweedy, she's the animal kingdom's worst nightmare; and let's be honest, anybody who hunts and kills animals for sport is never gonna be the nicest person in the world.

Why each of these villains are particularly twisted:

1. Tzekel-Kan-While South American cultures of the time DID practice human sacrifice, he seems to get off on the bloodshed and killing, even willing to murder his own henchman and later tries to lead Cortes to El Dorado, which would have ended in thousands of Native Americans dying.

2. Lord Farquaad-While he IS one of the most hilarious animated baddies, you can't overlook the fact that he looks down on fairytale creatures as they don't fit his xenophobic worldview, and has them banished and hunted down; just watch the scene where he tortures Gingey!

3. Shen-He massacred Po's village to stop a prophecy from coming true, which led to his family exiling him, and leading him to hold a grudge against them; he's also not above killing and threatening his own henchman into submission.

4. Mandible-Shows an intense hatred of the colony's queen and is willing to massacre the ants he deems "weak", so he can rebuild the colony from the ground up, and even sends ants who are loyal to the queen to be killed by termites.

5. Rumpelstiltskin-Forces Shrek to sign away his life to him, and later takes over Far Far Away in an alternate world, and enslaves ogres; he's also gleeful at the thought of Shrek fading to oblivion.

6. Drago-Uses his terrifying Bewilderbeast to control other dragons, and use them as part of a giant, world-conquering army.
