  • It is heavily implied Katzenberg had a chance of getting an Academy Award for Best Picture nomination like Disney's Beauty and the Beast did, as Golden Globes, BAFTA, and PGA awards for Best Film were successfully nominated; however, it did not materialize due to its conflicts between categories in animated films.
  • In Best Animated Feature category, Shrek is now the highest nominations in a film series with four.
  • Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is the only stop-motion animated film, in collaborate with Aardman, to nominate and win the award before the partnership termination between studios.
