We have a new policy regarding how characters can be described on a page. Details about why this is necessary are on RRabbit42's blog.
We are currently looking for people who are interested in becoming administrators. See the Call for admins blog for more details.

Purpose

Displays a pop-up mesage containing announcements, primarily for users who have their preferences set for the Monobook skin, and for some mobile devices like Blackberrys.

Doctor Cockroach: Forgive him, but as you can see, he has no brain.
B.O.B.:
Turns out, you don't need one. Totally overrated! As a matter of fact, I don't even... I forgot how to breathe! Don't know how to breathe!'
―B.O.B. and Doctor Cockroach to Susan Murphy[src]

B.O.B. (also known as "Benzoate Ostylezene Bicarbonate") is one of the deuteragonists in the DreamWorks film, Monsters vs. Aliens.

Background[]

He was created by a genetically altered tomato with a chemically altered ranch flavored dessert topping at a snack food plant. He mainly seems to be kind of stupid and is constantly annoying the team with his stupidity. In the movie he also had a girlfriend called Diane: a lime green gelatin with some pineapple chunks, claiming that she is "the only thing he deserves on this world".

Trivia[]

  • He is a reference to the 1958 film, The Blob.
  • B.O.B. is voiced by Seth Rogen who also voices Mantis from Kung Fu Panda films and reprised his role of him in the holiday special and sequel.
  • His voice actor, Seth Rogen, sounds exactly like Bill Fagerbakke, the voice of Patrick Star from SpongeBob SquarePants.
  • Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Nick Frost, Craig Robinson, John Goodman, David Denman, Seth MacFarlane, Steve Zahn, Ron Funches, Brett Gelman, Danny McBride, Nick Offerman, Kevin James, and Keegan-Michael Key were considered for the role of B.O.B. before Seth Rogen was cast.
  • In the Disney film Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, he along with Mantis from Kung Fu Panda and Pumba from the 2019 live action Lion King film appear commenting on how Bob the Dwarf's eyes look weird. This is a reference to how all four characters are voiced by Seth Rogen.
  • He hates carrot puree and was traumatized when he was forced to eat a lifetime supply of it as a baby as shown in Night of the Living Carrots.
