Walter Bruce Willis (born March 19, 1955) is a retired German-born American actor, comedian, producer, singer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his roles as David Addison in the comedy-drama series Moonlighting, or as John McClane in the Die Hard film series.
Willis is the recipient of several accolades, including a Golden Globe, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two People's Choice Awards. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006.
On March 30, 2022, Willis' family announced that he would be retiring from acting after he had been diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects language cognition. At the time of his retirement, Willis had completed eight films awaiting release in 2022 and 2023.
For DreamWorks, he performed the voice of RJ in Over the Hedge and Hammy's Boomerang Adventure.
