Chao is a recurring character in the DreamWorks•Nickelodeon's series, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.

Personality[]
Chao is usually calm and collected when he is holding to the ways of being a member of the Sacred Onyx Council. Chao seems strict about upholding the rules, traditions, and honor of Shaolin kung fu. He is willing to denounce Shifu as the master of the Jade Palace, hearing no excuses for the events leading to it, as per the rules. Despite being stern, Chao is also a wise leader, finding out for himself after seeing Junjie's flattering behavior towards him was a deception in order to gain power, and Chao was also humble enough to admit that doing the right thing was sometimes more important than following the "old rules". Chao has make grand entrances by having a gong sound whenever he appears around others by simply sounding the gong himself. Later on in the series, Chao then has become more mellowed out, and often humorous. Chao was amazed when Po learns the both Golden Lotus Clap and the Three Needles.
Physical Appearance[]
Chao is an anthropomorphic Asian water montior. He has large red and orange eyes. Chao wears a red tang suit and light green pants.
Abilities[]
Chao can use of his long tail to fight against his opponent. He is very knowledgeable of advanced and mystical kung fu moves, such as the Golden Lotus Clap. When partaking in the Masters' Ceremonial Sparring, he and the others are known to show their astonishing abilities, as they can float in midair, and Chao had a pink fiery glow emit from him as he sparred with them.
