Darnell is a minor character in the DreamWorks video game, Madagascar. He appears in the level 'Marty's Escape'.
Background[]
Darnell is one of the three operatives that Skipper directs Marty to in order to collect a power card for a sneak ability. He had smuggled the power card into the zoo by keeping it in his stomach for several days. He later gives the card to Marty by spitting it out of his mouth.
He also appears in the game's credits, where he vacuums Maurice into his trunk, but then throws him out of it.

- Darnell was supposed to be called Delbert, this was revealed within the audio files in the game Madagascar: the video game
- His name was possibly inspired by the last name of Eric Darnell, who is one of co-directors of Madagascar.
- Fred Tatasciore also voiced other characters from Madagascar which are King Foosa Sailor #2 and in the second film they were Teetis and Poacher #1 interestingly he also voiced the elephant in the second film and Maurice & Rico in the game Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008 Video Game ).
- Burt for The Penguins of Madagascar is probably inspired by Darnell since they are both Asian elephants and also have the same coloring.
- In the conceptual arts of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, elephants would have the same feature as Darnell.
