David Wayne Spade (born July 22, 1964) is an American actor, stand-up comedian, producer, screenwriter, and television personality. His comedic style, in both his stand-up material and acting roles, relies heavily on sarcasm and self-deprecation.
He is best known as a cast member on the sketch comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live. He is also well-known for portraying Richard Hayden in the buddy comedy film Tommy Boy (with the late Chris Farley), the titular character of the comedy film Joe Dirt, and Marcus Higgins in the Grown Ups films. Additionally, he voiced Kuzco in The Emperor's New Groove franchise, and Griffin in Hotel Transylvania franchise.
For DreamWorks Animation, he performed the voice of Tommy in the series, Father of the Pride.
