Edward Regan Murphy (born April 3, 1961) is an American actor, comedian, writer, producer, and singer. He had his breakthrough as a standup comic before gaining stardom as a movie star and he is widely recognized as one of the greatest comedians of all time, winner of various accolades and nominations.

For DreamWorks Animation, he performed the voice of Donkey in the Shrek films, Shrek the Halls, Donkey's Caroling Christmas-tacular and Father of the Pride.
