Erica Wang is a major character in the DreamWorks•Netflix's series, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants.
Background[]
Personality[]
She has a more mature and strong personality that leads her to be considered one of the most smartest students in the school.
Physical Appearance[]
She resembles an African-American 10 year old that usually wears a teal green T-shirt with an aquamarine vest, purple leggings, and yellow rain boots and has a large pom pom hairstyle held together by a purple headband.
Role in the series[]
Her first major appearance was in "The Vexing Villainy of the Vile Vimpire", where she tells George Beard and Harold Hutchins that their comics need a strong female character. Because of that, their comic made fun of Erica, and, while she never minded it, all of the other girl characters did not. Later, when it's revealed that Jessica Gordon had been turned into a vimpire, she aids George and Harold in changing Jessica back.
Her next major appearance was in "The Strange Strife of the Smelly Socktopus", where she pranks George and Harold that she was suspended and acts as though it was a miracle. However, once George and Harold believe that being suspended was indeed good and get suspended themselves, they learn that being suspended is nothing good and Erica was pranking them the entire time.
Her last severely major appearance was in "The Problematic Pandemonium of the Punishing Plungerina", where, after working with George and Harold on a very good comic, she states that her original heroine, Plungerina, could easily defeat anyone that Captain Underpants could. Because of this, George and Harold decide to turn one of their teachers, Riles Rected, into a supervillain called Cloggernaut to show Erica Captain Underpants could defeat him. However, when it was revealed that Captain Underpants wasn't in the school at that time, Erica, disguised as Plungerina, instantly defeats Cloggernaut and turns him back into Mr. Rected. This leads to George and Harold trying to figure out who Plungerina actually was. After much deliberation, the most likely suspect in their eyes was their school counselor, Edith Anthrope. However, they learn that Miss Anthrope was indeed not Plungerina and accidentally turn her into a supervillainess, Clogneta, who plans to take over the entire sewage system in Piqua, Ohio. After trying to defeat Clogneta, and a returned Cloggernaut, Plungerina finds that she has to join forces with Captain Underpants to stop them. Eventually, the heroes succeed, and Erica reveals herself while declaring her resignation from heroics.
Erica would appear in almost every episode, just with a smaller role than the aforementioned three.
Trivia[]
- Erica's surname, Wang, is actually more common for Asians rather than African-Americans. This suggests she is likely to be mixed.
