Bat-Sheva Ofra Haza (Hebrew: עפרה חזה; November 19, 1957 - February 23, 2000) was an award winning Israeli pop star, and international Grammy-nominated vocalist.
She performed the voice of Yocheved in The Prince of Egypt. She did this in 18 languages, including her native Hebrew (in which her first two lines in that language were always sung in every version). The animators for the film were so impressed by Ofra, that they modeled the look of Yocheved on Ofra's appearance.
Ofra Haza tragically passed away on February 23, 2000, at the age of 42 of AIDS.
