Altivo is the tritagonist in the DreamWorks film, The Road to El Dorado. He was once Cortés' horse, but when Tulio and Miguel are locked up in the brig, the latter talks Altivo into getting keys for them (though it was meant for him to get a pry bar) by offering him an apple.

It is revealed that Altivo still has his golden horse shoes on his hooves.
