Florrie "Florence" the Lioness is Alex's mother, Zuba's wife, and the Alpha Lioness of the pride in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. She is a lioness, who, unlike Zuba, accepts Alex for what he is.
Florrie isn't disturbed at all by the fact that Alex prefers to dance instead of fight. Due to this, she acts as the voice of reason and tries to encourage Zuba that it is better that Alex came back to them as a king, dancing or no dancing.
Florrie is never addressed by her name in the 2nd movie. In the end credits, she is credited as "Mom." She is voiced by Sherri Shepherd.
