Forgotten Island is an upcoming American computer-animated broad party comedy adventure film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. It is written and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado and produced by Mark Swift.

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 25, 2026.^[1]

Synopsis[]

The film is described as a broad party comedy adventure that transports the film's protagonists to a long forgotten, magical island rooted in Philippine mythology.

Production[]

On April 15, 2025, DreamWorks Animation announced a feature-length film titled Forgotten Island, set for release on September 25, 2026, with Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado attached to direct and write the film with Mark Swift as producer.^[2]

Trivia[]

This is the third DreamWorks Animation film to be directed by Joel Crawford, after The Croods: A New Age and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and the first not to be a sequel to an existing DreamWorks property.
This is the fourth DreamWorks Animation film to be released in September, after Abominable, The Wild Robot, and Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie.
