Hutch is a cute hapless rabbit caught inside of Wallace's "Mind-O-Matic" appears on The Curse of the Were Rabbit. Hutch is initially a regular rabbit, captured by Wallace and Gromit after Lady Tottington has a major infestation of rabbits, with the Giant Vegetable Competition soon to commence. After Wallace has an accident after attempting to use his "Mind-O-Matic" to brainwash the captive rabbits, Hutch is slowly transformed into a rabbit version of Wallace with his intelligence, share of Wallace's interest in inventions, and his loving for cheese.

As a result of this accident, Wallace is effected by the "Mind-O-Matic" to transform into the "Were-Rabbit" at nightfall. Hutch uses his intelligence to fix the Mind-O-Matic, as Wallace's intelligence is partly disabled, and Hutch also replaces Wallace in many missions Gromit embarks on in a bid to capture the Were-Rabbit, such as when they plan to save the Were-Rabbit, with Victor Quartermaine on the hunt to kill the beast, but with Hutch and Gromit's help, Wallace is restored to normal. In the end, Hutch is released into the "bunny sanctuary" at Tottington Hall.

  • He is slightly larger than the normal rabbits, almost the size of Gromit.
  • In a deleted scene, Hutch is placed back into the Mind-O-Matic. When Wallace and Gromit try the carrot test, at first, Hutch refuses the carrot, but instead dives into a whole bowl full of carrots.
  • As part of the bonus features on the Curse of the Were-Rabbit DVD, there was a scene where Hutch and Gromit do a recreation of the waking up scene from the film, with one noticable difference is the fact that Hutch simply falls through Wallace's pants.
  • All Hutch says is Wallace's quotes.
