The Jörmungandr is a large Mystery Class dragon and final main antagonist in the DreamWorks•Hulu series, Dragons: The Nine Realms. It is also known as the Midgard Serpent and World Serpent.

Physical Appearance[]
The Jörmungandr is a large dragon with a serpentine-like appearance with an elongated eel-like body and a cobra-like frills. The World Serpent has multiple dorsal fins of varying sizes that run from its head to its tail, a pair of large and small fins that are situated near the end of its tail, and a pair of fins behind its jawline. In terms of physical structure, the Jörmungandr's body is more robust and less streamlined compared to that of a typical snake, as it has a flatter shape. Its other distinguishing feature is its triple-split jaw with protruding teeth and two pairs of long fangs on the side and front of its lower jaws.
Role in the series[]
In the past, Hiccup imprisoned Jörmungandr in the Dark Realm using his mother's staff.
In "Rise of Jörmungandr", Jörmungandr was locked away by Hiccup. Jörmungandr managed to grab the Sky Torcher and eat it. Jörmungandr is now running loose in the Hidden World.
In "How to Train Jörmungandr", Jörmungandr slithering around the Crystal Realm and the Dragon Riders are attempting to capture it and return it back to the gate. It disappeared all of a sudden but then it appeared behind them.
In "Ragnarok: Part 2", Jörmungandr beats the Gem Blaster and about to blast the orb but Tom and Thunder managed to ram at him..
After Jörmungandr was defeated he was carried back to his prison once more.
