Kate is an orphan whose parents are never seen in the series except for in a single photograph.
When Lucky first came to Miradero Kate was one of the only people not looking at Lucky with shock.
In season 7 she married Jim and was expecting a baby.
In season 8 she gave birth to Polly Prescott the half-sister of Lucky Prescott.
