- “Flippy-ki-yay, Flippy Flipper!”
- ―Li'l Petey to Flippy before destroying a Beasty Building.
Li'l Petey is one of the deuteragonists in the 2025 DreamWorks film, Dog Man. He is Petey's little clone and adoptive son.
Background[]
Li’l Petey, though a clone of the infamous villain Petey, represents innocence and truth. He has a unique ability to reveal deeper truths with straightforward honesty. According to the film's director, Peter Hastings, Li’l Petey acts as a mirror, reflecting the core motivations of those around him, including Petey and Dog Man. His presence challenges others to confront their choices, ultimately highlighting the power of redemption and the transformative impact of unwavering kindness.
Official Description[]
- Petey's Dr. Evil mini-me, Li'l Petey is the complete opposite of the feline he was cloned from and ultimately forges a bond with Dog Man.[1]
Personality[]
Just like his book counterpart, Li'l Petey is an optimistic and curious child. Li'l Petey is almost never unhappy, and can make friends with anyone, even Flippy, an almost pure evil monster.
Physical Appearance[]
Li'l Petey looks similar to that of his book counterpart with not much of a difference. He is shown to be a young, orange tabby kitten with a head that has a long chin. He is also shown to have green eyes.

Trivia[]
- One of Lil' Petey's lines "Love is not something that you feel. Love is something that you do." (which he says to Petey and Grampa) is a possible reference to The VeggieTales Show episode, "The Power of Love".
- Coincidentally, Dog Man and the aforementioned show are both distributed by Universal Pictures.
- During the climatic battle against Flippy, Lil' Petey, at one point, says "Flippy-ki-yay, Flippy Flipper!", which is a reference to the famous "Yippie-ki-yay" quote from the 1988 film Die Hard.
