Lystrosaurus is a genus of dicynodont therapsid that appeared in DreamWorks•Netflix's series, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.

Background

Behavior

Lystrosaurus are known to be docile animals. It is shown to be curious when encountering other species face to face. It is also shown to have an aggressive behavior when it is forced to fight other species. However, Lystrosaurus are shown to be openly aggressive and territorial due being trained by human buyers.

Physical Appearance

Lystrosaurus is a small quadpedal non-mammalian synapsid with legs sprawled out. It has small hairs on top of its eyes. Lystrosaurus has short, broad snout and horny beak. It is known to have a pair large fang-like tusks on its upper jaw. Lystrosaurus has a short tail. Lystrosaurus has five toes on each foot.

Role in the series

In "Lab Partners: Part 1", a Lystrosaurus fetus was in a chamber as Darius and Yaz explores through the underground lab.

In "Fire in the Piazza", a Lystrosaurus was kept in a cage at Malta and was owned by Rio. Brooklynn sees it in a cage curious and the Lystrosaurus sees her face to face. Rio brings out a bone to the Lystrosaurus and then bites it.

In "Boiling Over", a Lystrosaurus watches Brooklynn hold Davi to the wall. She grabs hold on Davi's left arm towards the Lystrosaurus. Compsognathus approach next to the Lystrosaurus and then killed the Compy with one bite. Lystrosaurus then focus on Davi's left hand.

In "Undercover", Darius, Yaz, and Ben watch two Lystrosaurus being forced to fight each other in a fighting ring. They start head-butting each other and one of them pin down the other one and gave it painful bite.

In "No Escape", a Lystrosaurus watches everyone running away in the illegal market.

In "Active Pursuit", both Darius, Ben, Yaz, and Davi got startled by a Lystrosaurus who appeared in front of them. Then it roared at them and it sees a Ceratosaurus behind them and walks away quickly from it to escape.
