This is a list of trivia the 2005 film, Madagascar.

Trivia[]

  • This was the only movie to have a bad ending. The reason why the ending was bad was because Alex and his friends were stuck in Madagascar for a while longer, due to the fact that the boat was out of gas. And even though Alex and his friends didn't know that the boat was out of gas, it's possible that they eventually found out about it when they realized that the boat wasn't moving.
  • In Flushed Away, an Alex the Lion toy is seen in the background of the kid’s room.
  • The famous Wilhelm Scream was heard when the people in the subway are panicking while the zoo animals are escaping.
  • The Penguins were originally going to be a barbershop quartet, but were changed over to military commandos.
  • Originally, Melman and Gloria were supposed to fall in love and have a baby hippo. But since the film just came out, the directors thought that it might be weird for a giraffe and a hippo to fall in love. So, they put the love story in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa instead.
  • Originally, Melman was going to be an okapi. However, he was changed to a giraffe to become a more familiar animal. Despite this, an okapi made an appearance in the short film, Madly Madagascar.
  • The plane used by the Lemurs is a Lockheed Electra, which is the same plane that pilot Emilia Earhart went missing in.
  • In real life, lions, zebras, giraffes, and hippos don't live in the Central Park Zoo. It does have penguins, though.
  • The plot was originally going to be about animal rights activist liberating the animals out of the zoo.
