Magma Breather is the second episode of the second season of the Dreamworks•Hulu series, Dragons: The Nine Realms.

Synopsis[]

Tom has to keep his mom, Olivia, distracted while Jun, Alex, and D'Angelo use a new dragon to close off a cave leading to the Crystal Realm, and prevent her from discovering the dragons.

Plot[]

Olivia starts packing up and greets her son. Tom feels tired as he opens up the fridge and his mother guesting that he rest well and ready to face the day grunt. Tom then asks Olivia what is she doing and she answers him that she is getting ready to explore some caves that she has found in the Fisher. Tom gets worried and asks her why and Olivia answers him that's why their here for scientific research. She then tells him that she has spotted something on the ICARIS scout drones. She points out that it looks like a vein of auriferous quartz that could lead to a large deposit of but Tom finished her sentence with a guest that it is gold and Olivia answers him it is gold. Tom tells her that you think that he did not listen and Olivia tells him that he listen when it's convenient. She then showed him the TV screen that it is on sector nine and he replied that it is perfect which it is not near sector two. Olivia wonders why Tom was thinking about sector two. He explains to her that sector two was boring and sector nine is awesome. Then Wilma speaks to Olivia on her TV screen and tells there has been a change of plan that director Wong wants her to map out some caves in sector two. Olivia tells Wilma that the mineral deposits is in sector nine. Wilma tells her that she is leading a team in sector nine. Wilma explains to Olivia that she has checked with Rakke Corp and they prefer her to do the mapping and reminds her that she is the explorer of the group. Olivia believes that she'll be heading to sector two which makes Tom feel worried.

Tom warns his friends that his mom is heading to sector two which they became worried. Alex realizes if Olivia discovers dragons and everyone will find out and Feathers will end up in a zoo but will end up being invisible. D'Angelo explains that Plowhorn has been through enough but sees Wu and Wei play ice ring toss with her. He tells them to knock it off and wonders who taught them that which revealed to be Jun. She explains about what if they run away and join a creepy haunted circus. Tom tells them that no one isn't running to the circus and he has a plan. He points to the map of the cave's location which his mom his heading to and orders to collapse the mouth of the cave to make a dead end so the dragon world can't be found. This will make him and his mom to turn back.
