Melvin Richard Sneedly, named Melvinborg to differentiate himself from his younger counterpart, is the main antagonist of season 2 of the DreamWorksNetflix's series, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants.

Background[]

Personality[]

Like his younger counterpart, Melvinborg is an arrogant, manipulative, and villainous genius that has created countless futuristic inventions bypassing the laws of physics. However, he is shown to be more evil and villainous than his younger counterpart, to the point where Melvin himself does not want to be considered the monster Melvinborg was.

Physical Appearance[]

Melvinborg appears just as one would think of an adult version of Melvin, having the same body structure, wears the same clothes, and wears his hair the same way, just as tall as any other adult in the series. However, after an attack from Butt-erflies, Melvin collided with countless technological gizmos that ended up as a part of him, therefore turning him into a cyborg.

Role in the series[]

As a young boy, Melvin had been creating futuristic inventions since he was born, ultimately being one of the world's most genius minds. However, unlike many other scientists who would use these inventions for good, Melvin would use these inventions for his own selfish and villainous reasons. Because of this, Melvin's main goal throughout his school years was to get enrolled into Ellitenati Academy, a college made specifically for evil geniuses. Despite how hard he tried to get enrolled, Melvin would grow into his adult years with no luck of doing so, causing him to be grown with more and more hatred for his younger self. After an incident with Butt-erflies sent into the future, Melvin would officially become Melvinborg, and after much deliberation, Melvinborg decided the best thing he could do was to go back in time and aid his younger self greatly into being enrolled into Ellitenati Academy.

In his debut appearance, "The Sickening Fumes of Smartsy Fartsy", Melvinborg, disguised as the school's superintendent Vil Endenemys, is informed by his childhood arch-nemeses, George Beard and Harold Hutchins, that the principal, Benjamin Krupp, was being cruel and threatened them to be expelled if they were to land in his office again, and after the mentioning of Mr. Krupp's illegal writing of the rules, Melvinborg states that if he were to find the rule book and see the rules Mr. Krupp wrote down without permission and the authority to do so, then Mr. Krupp would get fired. Because of this, George and Harold create an anthropomorphic fart named Smartsy Fartsy to aid them in stealing the rule book.

Meanwhile, the present Melvin had being mourning a document Ellitinati Academy had given him about how he could not attend the campus, when he finds Melvinborg in his disguise in a robe, hiding away from the audience and, as the next episode, "The Troublesome Treachery of the Thieving Toot Fairy", for dramatic effect. He explains to Melvin that he wants Melvin to be a part of Ellitinati Academy, though before he could do that, he asks Melvin a favor of which he never wished to do: help George and Harold. Because of this, Melvin creates another Elevapor 2000, an invention he made in the previous episode, to help George and Harold create another living gas cloud, and with it, they steal the rule book from a giant room filled with deadly traps. However, George and Harold change their minds, and give Mr. Krupp the rule book back. However, Melvin had swapped the rule book with his mother's cookbook and gave the real rule book to Melvinborg, who fires Mr. Krupp, expels George and Harold, and reveals his true identity.

Now having taken control of the school, Melvinborg turns it into a Melvin-themed school throughout the entire campus and fills the campus with classes only his younger self could comprehend, including the teachers. Eventually, George and Harold reveal that the new superintendent, Grace Wain, had let them go back to school since they only broke the rules Mr. Krupp made, which were false rules. This infuriates Melvinborg, but he does not exactly care as his biggest problems were the incompetent teachers who had not been teaching each subject correctly. Therefore, Melvinborg replaces all of the teachers with robotic replicas named Teachertrons and locks the rest of the teachers except for the gym teacher Kenny Brian Meaner, who had successfully escaped to go to the bathroom, in a room. Because of this, George and Harold decide that they need to stop Melvinborg and Melvin and try to find Mr. Krupp to ultimately turn him into Captain Underpants. However, Mr. Krupp was nowhere to be found, so they had to find other resources for heroes and find Mr. Meaner, whom of which they easily hypnotize into Sergeant Boxers and give him superpowers.

The next day, Sergeant Boxers is sent to fight the Teachertrons by George and Harold, and after a long battle, the Teachertrons are ultimately defeated by Sergeant Boxers. Because of this, Melvinborg and Melvin retaliate and add in more robots to combine together and become a giant robot. After a long battle with the giant Teachertron and another "robot" which was really just all of the teachers stacked together, George, Harold, and Sergeant Boxers go into the control panel of the giant robot and defuse it using something Harold learned in a robotics class. After the Teachertrons were defeated, Grace Wain comes in and informs Melvinborg that it was a school-zone violation to have the teachers replaced with robots.

In "The Frantic Fury of the Fearsome Furcules", George, Harold, Erica Wang, Gooch, Bo Hweemuth, Dressy Killman, Jessica Gordon, Sophie One and Other Sophie reveal that they are not fond of the changes in the school and how it is all about Melvin now, and so they try their hardest to go and convince Mr. Krupp to join the school again. After a long and perilous journey, the kids, named the MISFARTS, finally convince Mr. Krupp successfully. The next episode, "The Harmful Horrors of the Harrowing Hive School", Melvinborg rehires Mr. Krupp due to how hard it was to run the school by himself, only this time, he was demoted to vice principal.

In the same episode, Melvinborg and his younger self create a device that turns all of the teachers into bee slaves after shooting darts at them. However, after accidentally shooting too many darts into Tara Ribble, a fourth grade teacher, the latter turns into Queen Zombee and she, as well as all of the other teachers and students with bee DNA in them, including Melvinborg and Melvin, take over the school, forcing George, Harold, and Captain Underpants to step in and defeat them. Afterwards, a bear finds Melvinborg and Melvin covered in honey and chases them away.

In the next episode, "The Preposterous Pulverizing of the Pestering Poopacabra", Melvinborg and Melvin set up a chart in the school's main hall that shows how well a student is doing, revealing, to no one's surprise, that Melvin was the top student. Later, he tells George and Harold's class that they would have a school project that involved teaching a chosen animal a meaningful trick, and he would be the judge as to whom trained their animal the best. To no one's surprise, at the end of the episode, Melvinborg declares Melvin the winner.
