Paramount Pictures

Paramount Pictures Corporation is an American film studio founded in 1912.

Over the Hedge is the first DreamWorks Animation film to be distributed by Paramount after the departure of DreamWorks Pictures (who were the former parent of DWA). Paramount distributed 14 DreamWorks Animation films from 2006 to 2012.

As of February 2010, Paramount legally owns the copyrights and trademarks to all of the DreamWorks titles that were made prior to 2008 (along with any 2008 to 2011 films they released). This doesn't include the animated library, as DreamWorks Animation would later acquire it in 2014 prior to its 2016 acquisition by Comcast.

The logo was not included at the beginning of their films from DreamWorks Animation, possibly due to only distributing the films.

It is the fifth oldest film studio in the world, the second oldest film studio in the United States (behind Universal Pictures), and the sole member of the "Big Five" film studios still located in the city limits of Los Angeles. The other four are Disney, Universal, Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures. 20th Century Fox was also one of them until it became a subsidiary of Disney in 2019. In 1916, film producer Adolph Zukor put 22 actors and actresses under contract and honored each with a star on the logo. In 2014, Paramount Pictures became the first major Hollywood studio to distribute all of its films in digital form only. The company's headquarters and studios are located at 5555 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, California.

Paramount Pictures is a member of the Motion Picture Association (MPA).

The studio has produced various DreamWorks Animation properties (such as Shrek, the Madagascar sequels, the first two Kung Fu Panda films, and the first How to Train Your Dragon) before both studios were respectively acquired by Disney (via Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm) and Universal Studios.
