Personality
Throughout the franchise, Private's personality is described him being sensitive, emotional, and happy of the group and rookie of the group, who is sometimes prone to accidents. Despite his personality being shy and emotional, Private is "sticky" and sometimes brave in really bad situations. Private doesn't seem to be concerned about the lemurs. He is gentle, loving, as well as caring to the extend that he was ready to take another shot in place of Skipper.
Private is extremely in love by his favorite foods: Peanut Butter Winky and Fish. Private seems to be overly-protective sometimes. In "Skorca!", Private has a sugar rush after eating his favorite caramel chocolate Butternut Winky. In "Mort Unbound," Private was shown to give life lessons and tell Mort that being buff and bad is not what life is. Private has an abnormal fear of badgers. Private is observant and loyal to the Penguins.
Appearance
He is the shortest among the other penguins. In Madagascar a Christmas caper, Madagascar and Madagascar 2, he is cross-eyed.
