Shrek first sees Lancelot practicing his jousting skills on another student who is sent flying by Lancelot's charge. Mistaking Lancelot for Arthur, Shrek carries him over his shoulder against his will until Lancelot explains to him that Arthur was the student he just hit. Lancelot is the possible boyfriend of Guinevere. He is greatly shocked to hear that Artie is next in line to be the new king Far Far Away after defeating Prince Charming. When Arthur announces his claim to the throne, he threatens to banish Lancelot and the rest of the jousting team for their bullying of him.
Trivia[]
- Lancelot is based off of the Arthurian legend's Lancelot du Lac of Camelot, one of King Arthur's knights and the lover of Guinevere.
- According to the legend, he is the most trusted knight of King Arthur and was also responsible for Arthur's downfall for his affair with Guinevere.
- The characteristics of Lancelot are similar to the characteristics of a typical high school jock depicted in films about life either in high school or in college.
- In the Shrek, there is a sign in the parking lot outside Duloc that reads: "you are parked in Lancelot". This may imply Lancelot may be from Duloc, but is more likely just a parody of parking lots with themed "you are parked in..." signage.
