The Angel of Death was an angel sent by God to kill the firstborn sons of all the Egyptians. It is shown to be a white looking mist that has a mind of it's own. It is a very frightening angel scaring a few guards and many parents and children inside their homes. Even though it is frightening it is shown to have taken the souls of the firstborn sons quickly and without pain. It dwells in Heaven and is shown returning to heaven after it takes the firstborn sons. After the angel leaves, the crying and screams of thousands of parents can be heard. This plague even killed Pharaoh's son Amun-her-khepeshef which causes Ramses to finally let the people go. The only sounds it makes are sighing noises symbolizing the final breaths of its victims.
