• The movie is an animated remake of The Ten Commandments which has the same plot and characters.
• Both The Prince of Egypt and Antz were released in 1998 and have dark and mature content not usually shown in other DreamWorks movie.
• In July 2014, the film's distribution rights were purchased by DreamWorks Animation and transferred to 20th Century Fox.
