So this is the outdoor woods? I like it!
―Tiger arriving in the woods.[src]

Prince Tigerius Mahmoud Shaboz, better known as Tiger, is a Persian cat and a minor character in the DreamWorks film, Over the Hedge. He is Gladys' former pet and Stella's boyfriend.

In the film, he orders Stella (who was disguised as a cat) to leave "with her filth", thus upsetting her and making her stand up to him. In turn, Tiger is amazed that someone stood up to him for the first time and thus, began to fall in love with Stella.

Background[]

Not much is known about Tiger's early years, but he does reveal that he was bred for beauty, which indicates that he comes from a highly exclusive family of cats. This is furthermore evidenced by the fact that Tiger reveals that his father, and his grandfather, were both very similar in appearance.

Personality[]

Tiger has been shown to be pretty selfish, skeptical to strangers, and also quite protective over his territory. He is also shown as being very self-centered and "royal", in that he constantly talks about his beauty, and how he has inherited his beauty from generations of cats.

Physical Appearance[]

Tiger is a chubby build cat with white fur, blue eyes, black nose, whiskers and brown markings mainly on his face, paws and ears making him look like a siamese, himalayan or a balinese cat.

Appearances[]

Over the Hedge[]

Tiger comes out of the door and he sees the animals near the trash can and his owner Gladys Sharp shoos them away. He later appears when Stella distracts him when the animals go to the house to get the food. The next morning, Tiger falls in love with Stella, who reveals to him that she's a skunk disguised as a cat as she sprays the house. Much to Stella's surprise and happiness, the smell does bother Tiger as he actually does not have a sense of smell.

After that, Dwayne the Verminator breaks into the house to capture all of the animals, so Tiger saves Stella by pushing her out of the way, leading the exterminator to net him instead of the skunk when he captures Verne and the animals after RJ leaves. At the end, he and Stella hug each other and now he's part of the family.

The Video Game[]

Tiger only appears at the end of the game when he dances with Stella.

Trivia[]

  • Tiger speaks with a heavy Persian accent. Ironically in real life and hence his name and his Persian accent, Tigers (Panthera tigris) were once present in Persia (now Iran) until they became extinct there in 1959, when the last known tiger was shot in the Golestan province.
