The Whale is a minor character in the Big Idea franchise, VeggieTales.
Background[]
Jonah wakes up from a nightmare to see that a huge storm has hit the ship. Captain Pa Grape deduces that God is enraged with someone on board, which is why the storm was sent. To determine who is at blame, the gang decides to play Go Fish. The moment Jonah gets off the ship, the skies clear. Jonah loses the game and has to walk the plank. Jonah gets devoured by a gigantic whale before the pirates can bring him back in. Using a bowling ball as ammunition, the pirates use a cannon to assault the whale. After ingesting the ball and removing Jonah's lifebelt, the whale swims off.
When Khalil sees Jonah within the whale's belly, he knows that he has defied God by attempting to flee from him and is confident that his time to die is running out. A plethora of God's angels soon pay the two a visit and inform them that Jonah will have another opportunity at life if he turns from his sins. After three days and nights within the whale, Jonah cheerfully repents. He and Khalil are then spit out onto the coast, where they ride Jonah's camel, Reginald, to Nineveh.
Trivia[]
- According to the official Jonah website, he and Jonah became close friends in the middle of filming. When the time came for him to swallow the latter, he became very upset, as he believes that friends shouldn't swallow one another.
- Also, if he weren't an actor, he would simply be himself.
- In the first film, he is simply told by God to eat Jonah by taking him back where he told to go to Nineveh.
